Ahead of Her Time: The Legacy of Lena Burckhardt Swift (later Mrs. Lena Swift Huntley), One of America’s Earliest Female Corporate Presidents (1897–1898) based in Atlanta, Georgia. Decades before women in executive leadership became a national conversation, Lena B. Swift was elected President of the S.S.S. Company, heading the nationally distributed brand nearly 25 years before women's suffrage.

During Women’s History Month 2026, the S.S.S. Company is telling the story of Lena B. Swift, who from 1897 to 1898 served as president of the Atlanta-based patent-medicine company, decades before women in leadership became part of the national conversation.
