Many local pharmacies (like Walgreens) also carry Curasore, but it is best to call ahead (or search their site online) to verify they have it in stock and in your location.
Whichever channel you choose, it is the same product. Same 0.5 oz bottle. Same formula. Same disposable cotton applicators in the box. All of it made in our Atlanta facility in the same small batches as always. The Walmart stock is held in a Walmart fulfillment center, which is why it ships quickly.

What Is Curasore?
Curasore is a topical anesthetic developed by S.S.S. Company for the temporary relief of pain, burning, and irritation caused by cold sores and fever blisters.
It is not a barrier cream. It is not a cover-up. It is a fast-acting liquid built around pramoxine hydrochloride 1%, a topical anesthetic that targets the pain directly at the source.
Walk into any pharmacy and you will find a wall of cold sore products. Most of them sit on top of the skin and protect the area while the sore runs its course. That is useful, but it is not the same thing as a topical anesthetic that numbs the pain.

How is Curasore Made?
Curasore’s unique formulation benefits customers. However, it can make manufacturing very tricky. Manufacturing products with ethyl ether requires:
- Additional safety precautions
- Specialized equipment
- Frequent quantity checks, as evaporation can affect how much liquid is in each vial
During production, S.S.S. Company employees perform regular quality checks. They also keep products from each batch for regular testing, ensuring the batch performs consistently over time. The extra steps involved in manufacturing Curasore take time, but they are essential to producing high-quality, quick-drying products.
The Formula Has Not Changed
In the wellness industry, reformulation is common. A brand changes ingredients to cut costs, improve margins, or chase a trend. The original formula quietly disappears and something new takes its place with the same name on the label.
We have never done that with Curasore. The team that made this week’s batch used the same formula as the team before them, and the team before that.

How Do I Apply Curasore?
Each box of Curasore includes multiple applicators. Apply Curasore directly to cold sores and fever blisters using the provided applicator end to ensure the product covers the affected area hygienically. The applicators are also a cleaner, which is a more effective method than using fingers or absorbent products like facial tissue (simply use the applicator's other side).
Boxing Curasore with applicators adds an extra production step, but it is worth the convenience to customers. Instead of heading back to the store to pick up Q-tips, S.S.S. Company customers can treat cold sores and fever blisters immediately.

For a long time, we produced Curasore the way most manufacturers do. Large runs, high volume, ship, and store. It was efficient. It also meant a batch could sit for months before it reached you, and sometimes one batch expired before the next came to market, creating gaps in availability.
So we stopped. A few years ago we made a production decision that costs us more but makes the product better. We switched from 150 gallon production runs to small, frequent batches of 20 to 25 gallons.
Then and now
- Then: 150 gallon batches. Large runs that took months to move through inventory. Now: 20 to 25 gallon batches, shipping close to the day they were made.
- Then: Product sometimes aged on the shelf before reaching you. Now: This week’s batch ships this week.
- Then: Lower production cost and easier planning for us. Now: More work for us, a better product for everyone who orders.
Every batch is made in Atlanta, Georgia, in our FDA-regulated facility, and carries its own lot number and expiration date for full traceability.
